Date Night!

Every Friday my husband and I have date night. Last Friday I wore Caroline Morgan white with black and pink strip dress and black heels by Tony Bianco followed by pink smokey eye's from Maybelline MNY Line and a very shiny red lip gloss by Revlon ColorBust 028.

How would you wear your makeup on a date?

Nails: Cover Girls-Black

Smokey Purple Eye's for the Festive Season!

It's that time of the year again!!! IT'S CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR PARTIES! I love this look as it can go from day to night look, all you need to do is change your lipstick. During the day use a shade lighter and before heading out change the color to a deep darker shade. It changes the look dramatically!!!

I find the only way for me to pull-off the shimmer/glitter look I have to mix it with matte eye shadow. If I only used all shimmer/glitter it tends to darken my eyes and look so messy. Is it only me? Do you find this issue too?

Here are the products I used to get this look! You don't have to use this products to get this look, be creative with your own makeup. Note: I was not paid to advertise these products.

Step 1:  First prime your eyelids, this helps the eyeshadow last longer. Then using your purple shimmer start from the corner of your eyes and stop around the middle of your pupil.

Step 2: Using you matte dark purple continue on until the edge of your eyelids. You can always start with dramatic smoky eye.
Repeat steps 1 & 2: Repeat the steps until you get the intensity of the colour you desire.
Step 3: Using your dark purple blend in your crease line taking to the centre of your eyelids. Trick of getting a perfect crease is to place your brush on your crease then try lifting your head up until you see your crease. Using a wiper blade motion  blend in your crease.
Step 4:  Following step 3 but using your shimmer purple and blend in your crease.
Step 5: Using no product take your blending, start from your lower part of your lid and slowly blend in (using wiper motion)
Step 6: Using your concealer clean your eyeshadow. I prefer using concealer as I don’t need to redo my foundation. Concealer can also help give you straight lines. You can even clean your eyeshadow under your eyebrows or under eye.

Finish you look with eyeliner (I’m using my favourite gel eyeliner L'Oreal, check out my previous blog to get the perfect eyeliner look), Mascara and Lipstick, I love how Revlon ColorStay is long lasting and it glossy finish.

My secrets! Shhh... How to put eyeliner? My signature look!

Two things I can't go without are my concealer and my eyeliner. Over the years, I had to learn how to do my eye’s to make them stand out, last long (without smudging) and to be day and night appropriate. Let me show you two products I used and how to get my signature look!

Gel Liner
The first product which I LOVEEEEEE is L’Oreal Superliner 24 hrs Gel Liner.  L’Oreal gel liner is a long-lasting waterproof eyeliner, it has the best intense and bold colour finishing. I am able to wear it to work, gym or on a night out and the liner would not smudge as it has ultra-quick drying effect. No joke, it does last 24 hours if you don’t remove your makeup. This liner is perfect for big day like weddings and special events.

I know, Gel liners can look scary and may look hard to use but trust me it’s easy, just follow my steps and you will be a pro. L’Oreal Superliner does comes with a high-precision brush which always creates a smooth line but if you are a beginner I would suggest using an angled tip brush (shown in Picture 1). The brush I am using came from my professional brush kit by Nude by Nature (If you are looking to invest in good but reasonable price brushes check them out, it is worth every penny). By purchasing an angled tip brush, you will be able to create other eyeliner designs like cat eyes easily. Once you get used to using a brush to do your eyeliner you will find using L’Oreal professional easy to use.

Pencil Liner
The second eyeliner I use and love is Rimmel London Scandaleys waterproof kohl kajal. The pencil eyeliner is amazing, the colour is brilliant, and it is ultra smooth and creamy formula that it makes it easy to glide on. I love how it’s a pencil that is sweat, heat, humidity proof and it doesn’t smudge. Scandal is a dermatologist (skin specialist and ophthalmologist (is a specialist in medical and surgical eye problems) tested. It is safe for anyone with sensitive eyes. If you are not in to gel product try this product.
