Meet your face - the "Important Diva"! Without her there is not point using makeup. Right?
It is important to care for her as she represents you. I want to start my
journey by identifying my skin type and to ensure I follow a routine that would
nourish and maintain my skin. Yes, you may think it is nothing to do with
makeup but in any painting we always have to care for our canvas and with makeup it
is our Face. Over the years, I had to learn to understand my skin type in order
to get my daily and monthly routine right. Our skin changes as we age, weather
and sometimes it even tells you to stop and take a break.
It is important to know your skin type as it will help you
to maintain your face and when it comes to makeup you will be able to
select products like foundation and primer more easily. Let’s learn how to identify
our skin type.
Follow this instruction
to help you identify:
Step 1: Wash your face with your cleanser. Making
sure you remove your makeup.
Step 2: Using a clean and dry wash cloth,
wipe your face dry.
Step 3: Leave your face for about 10-15 mins
without putting moisturiser or oils to dry completely.
What Next?
Are you using the right
product for your skin type? If not, you may want to test and choose products
that are more suitable for you.
Suggestion
of products you may want to include in your routine are:
·
Cleanser
·
Toner
·
Moisturisers:
My moisturiser has sunscreen protection and I love it! Sunscreen is IMPORTANT: If
you have dark skin tone, this is more IMPORTANT.
I know there are many articles say dark skin doesn't burn but that is not true.
Did you know that our skin tones tends to burn 10 times worst than lighter skin
tone?
·
Hip rose
oil: Helps remove scars, lightened your freckles and dark circles under
your eyes, help to prevent major breakouts and it reduces facial greasiness. If
you have oily skin type you still can use this as it is dry oil. I personally
love using this at night.
Note: I don’t use the same brands i.e. my cleanser (Neutrogena), moisturizer (Oley) and Hip Rose Oil
(Swisse), this is
suitable for my skin. I don’t use a toner as I have not found any that is
suitable. If you know a good brand I would love to know, comment below.
